The police officer, school teacher, engineer, firefighter, attorney, doctor, professor, designer, manager and rocket scientist all have one thing in common: they’re killing it financially with YNAB.
Currently I am a stay-at-home mom with four children. One of them has special needs and care. I have a total of six children, two have grown and moved into their own homes.
I found YNAB in October of 2010. I have looked at it, used it, and balanced it almost every day since then. I've been recovering from a separation and divorce so with that comes a huge financial change. Financially, I needed a tool that would help me clearly outline my family's financial needs and help me prioritize and distribute my money wisely. I found YNAB online and have told so many people about the responsibility and control it gives back to our financial health. As a 45-year-old woman, I have to admit this is the best financial tool that I have ever used in my life.
YNAB is so user friendly. I learned very quickly how to navigate my way around and make it work for me. The additional tips sent from the YNAB team further enabled me to be successful. By having an accurate look at the flow of my money, I knew exactly where I stood. I've been able to allocate money to outstanding bills and I now have a savings/emergency fund.
I love the power and accountability found in using YNAB. I keep every receipt for even the smallest things I pay for out of my "Cash In My Hot Little Hands" (that's the name I gave to my cash on hand accounting). I love looking at the pile of receipts because it's proof that I'm taking financial responsibilty.
I think financial stress is one of the hardest things to live with. Having a clear, financial picture puts me in charge. It enables me to be in the driver's seat, rather than purely reactionary.
