Keeping more than one device in sync

This article is for anyone who is using Legacy sync (Wi - Fi) as opposed to Cloud Sync.  If you have YNAB 4, you may want to check out our Cloud Sync feature as it eliminates all the hurdles associated with Wi-fi syncing.

To keep more than one mobile app (Android, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) in sync, follow the steps below.
 

Each time you work through the steps below, change the IP address and case-sensitive passcode to what is shown on the device you are syncing.

  1. Sync device A with the desktop.
  2. Approve/adjust any transactions imported from the mobile app on the desktop.
  3. Adjust budget if needed.
  4. Sync device B with the desktop.
  5. Approve/adjust any transactions imported from the mobile app on the desktop.
  6. Adjust your budget if needed.
  7. Sync device B again so that it has the latest updates from the desktop.
  8. Sync device A again so that it has the latest updates from the desktop.
